Contains Sexually Explicit ContentpublicationAlgorithms can be gender bias. A lot of algorithms that detect sexual content online are more likely to censor images of women than images of men.

This publication is a collection of photos posted on Instagram by female artist and designers to show this gender bias. Each of the posts had been deemed inappropriate and violate the terms of use, resulting in the post being deleted by Instagram or the account to be deleted/banned. To go with the images, I have included the text “Why Instagram Censored My Body” written by Petra Collins in the Huffington Post.
