Advances in technology means we are living in an increasingly digital world. The Bank of England has even been working on a ‘Digital Pound’ as they feel like it is something that will be necessary in the future. However, as our view of money shifts to become more digital we often forget about all beauty and physicality of cash. For my practical project I am celebrating money/currency as a form of art. I think there are a lot of interesting stories worth telling when it comes to the design of currency, and the way we use currency in art and design.

I’ve taken some of these stories and placed them into a publication to bring them together. The publication also contains some of my own work where I have used a Scanning Electron Microscope to take images of different forms of currency. This includes coins, banknotes and a bank card.
